The City of Denton is continuing its work on various phases of the Bonnie Brae reconstruction, which began several years ago following voter approval of the City’s 2014 bond program. The widening project has not yet started, as the City continues to work to obtain additional funding and the necessary rights of way.
Current construction on Bonnie Brae Street between Interstate 35E and Windsor Drive is not part of the planned road widening, but rather it is a result of utility work that must be completed before the road widening can begin. Once current phases of work are complete, the City of Denton plans to expand the road, put in medians and travel lanes.
