Federal Government May be Ordered to Fix Gaps in Hidalgo County Levee System Caused by Border Wall Construction

After parts of the levee system in Hidalgo County were destroyed by construction on the border wall, U.S. District Judge Randy Crane may order the federal government to fix the gaps. The levee system prevents the Rio Grande from overflowing and flooding the region, which is critical during hurricane season.

Texas eminent domain attorney Roy Brandys, who represents Fortco Properties Ltd. and Krenmueller Farms in a land condemnation lawsuit, was asked by Judge Crane to submit a motion and draft the order.
