High-Speed Rail Land Acquisition Assurance Act Introduced in January 2022

On January 10, 2022, The High-Speed Rail Land Acquisition Assurance Act was introduced by Congressman Jake Ellzey (TX-6) and Ranking Member, Kevin Brady (TX-8). The bill was introduced to protect the private property rights of Texas landowners by requiring companies to acquire the necessary land to finish any and all high-speed rail projects before they are approved for construction. The High-Speed Rail Land Acquisition Act would help preserve family lands for future generations.
