New Texas Law Allocates $750 Million to Construct a Border Wall

Gov. Abbott today signed into law a border security funding bill that includes approximately $750 million to build a border wall, adding to the $250 million committed by the State of Texas earlier this summer.

These funds will be used as a starting point to construct a border wall, with 733 miles identified by the Governor’s office as being in need of some type of barrier. Gov. Abbott has also raised more than $54 million in additional funding from private donors through his own crowdfunding site.
