What Landowners Should Know About the Bastrop-Austin Jet Fuel Pipeline
About the Bastrop-Austin Jet Fuel Pipeline
Flint Hills Resources, the primary aviation fuel supplier for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), plans to construct a 20-mile underground pipeline from Bastrop County to AUS, parallel to SH 71. The 10-inch pipeline will be buried approximately four feet deep, with construction expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, pending final permitting.
Why Legal Representation Matters
In our experience, initial offers from pipeline companies do not always take into consideration all of the impacts the pipeline easement has on a property, including the impact on the remainder property or property outside the boundaries of the pipeline easement. If you’ve been contacted about the Austin airport jet fuel pipeline project, it is important to:
- Keep detailed records of all correspondence, maps, and offers
- Don’t accept the first offer without a full review
- Speak with an experienced eminent domain attorney
At Barron, Adler, Clough & Oddo, we represent property owners in eminent domain and condemnation cases and have helped Texans across the state receive higher compensation in pipeline and other infrastructure-related condemnations.
We’re actively monitoring this project and are here to protect your rights. If your land is near the proposed pipeline or you’ve been contacted by the project team, reach out to Barron, Adler, Clough & Oddo for a consultation. We’ll walk you through your options and help you determine the best course of action.
